A Quick Note For Those Expressing Trauma Over the Presidential Election Results

Trauma is trauma, and eventually it must be confronted.

This one goes out to those on my side of the political fence, being those who did not vote for Donald J. Trump.

In recent days, someone I know compared the trauma of Trump winning the election to my trauma regarding last year’s unexpected loss of my wife.

He wanted me to understand his perspective. He was delicate about it, asking for me to listen and concerned I would explode.

There was no reason for me to do so. Trauma is trauma.

Seek help if necessary.

My wife is not coming back and I have had to accept that.

Losing her was the toughest thing I ever faced in my life.

The election results are not going to change and we have to accept that. Anti-Trump voters are largely aghast he won, sincerely believing he represents the worst of humanity for a multitude of reasons.

But there is not going to be a recount. There is not going to be a result-changing investigation.

For those to whom this applies, please stop kidding yourselves but also, please, do what you must to seek help for your trauma. I…
