As a Jew, especially, I have little if anything at all to gain from sharing my thoughts on this matter, which is all the more reason for me to do so.

For immediate context, please read the following Newsweek piece:

A federal judge has since shut down the deportation effort, at least for now, but that note belabors other pertinent points.

Was Khalil an agitator? It’s tough to argue against it. Did he foment antisemitic sensibilities? It’s tough to argue against that also.

If he and I were in a bar and we both delved into the matter of the Gaza War, would our conversation be civil? I’d say the odds are against it, though I’d certainly make the effort.
