Sometimes, it pays to keep one’s eyes open.

The following is my original article that caused some fuss (in a good way):

“Busted: Medium Scam Exposed” detailed a near-line-for-line plagiarist who veritably copied an online article, and claimed it as her own, in an apparent effort to make money off of gullible writers.

I was alerted to this development yesterday. When you now click on the linked plagiarized article, this now appears:

Job done.

I’m not a Medium cop, to be clear. In fact, I have little to gain by exposing these issues here save for getting some people upset with me.

But… if I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: I’m going to keep doing what I can to help writers.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s healthy for writers to make their own mistakes and learn from them as they progress.

But no writer should have to face overt scams. What we do is challenging enough.

My two cents. In the meantime, I’ll keep on keeping on.

Thank you for reading.
