Finding Love Again Following the Death of a Significant Other: Is There Such a Thing as Too Soon?

Introduction

As many of you know, I lost my beloved wife of nearly 23 years last November to complications from the bursting of an undetected brain aneurysm. On the date of the incident, Lorie walked three miles in the morning, came home and did some work. She then went shopping at Costco in the afternoon.

She was proud of her accomplishments that day, believing her efforts to be particularly productive and telling me she wanted to extend her walk another mile the following morning.

That evening, Lorie and I were talking in bed when she complained of a sudden headache. Moments later, she screamed something was happening to her brain and in short order passed out.

The aneurysm became a major hemorrhagic stroke; my dear wife would regain consciousness twice in the hospital before passing away not six days later.

She told me she loved me both times. We also rubbed noses both times, which was sort of a signature for us.
