UPDATE: Has “Trumpism” Become a Religion?
Long after Donald Trump is out of office, his reign will continue.

The original title of this piece was, “Will “Trumpism” Become a Religion?” However, as a large percentage of the country appears to already be, quite literally, worshipping this anthropomorphic god ... I tweaked it.
This piece is a collection of past articles I’ve written and posted on Medium about Donald J. Trump, the President of the United States.
Unlike on my social media, where I express my anti-Trump views fairly vociferously, I do attempt here to be a bit more balanced.
Sometimes, I’m successful. Other times, I am not.
The articles reprinted below will begin with the most current — therefore the most relevant — and span to the oldest, and some will be separated into sections with the same order. I’ve expended a great deal of effort and ink (perhaps too much) to determine a world course via the actions (and inaction) of this president, and bluntly I am frightened over what I am seeing.
One more thing. I hear this a great deal: “The president is working so hard on the Covid-19 issue, frequently without any sleep. He needs applause.”
Well, the point is highly arguable, what with Trump’s frequent straying from the advice of experts and being more politically expedient than useful in his words, but my response is this: DONALD TRUMP IS AN ELECTED OFFICIAL. HE WAS VOTED INTO OFFICE. HE DAMN WELL BETTER BE DOING HIS JOB, OR HE SHOULDN’T HAVE RUN.
Oh, and one more thing: Goddamn him if his alleged comments about our military dead being “suckers” and “losers” is actually true.
Onward …
My most recent pieces were posted here, on Medium, within the past four months.
On Racism During The Trump Era
For perhaps obvious reasons, I have been compelled to write extensively about racism during the Donald Trump era.
This first entry is not on racism per se, but it fits here as the issue is addressed:
This second entry is more of a personal anecdote, but it is, I believe, highly relevant to today:
As to others …
On Gun Control And Other Social Issues During The Trump Era
The world has changed, drastically, from 2016.
What follows are some personal efforts to make sense of it all …
Those that preceded it were generally posted days apart …
Let’s consider all the above entries my “Phase Two” of Donald Trump pieces. “Phase One,” below, ended with my most commented upon — and well-received — article of them all …
The following Medium story was by far my most well-received in terms of feedback — of not just Trump pieces, but of my entire Medium output.
The response surprised me, and indeed some who only read the title and not the entirety of the article spurned me on social media.
But read for yourself. I stand by every unfortunate word:
As to its predecessors …
Finally, the first out of the gate …
These pieces, rants and all, were written from the point of view of a concerned and proud U.S. citizen. I did not set out to disdain this president. I was once, admittedly, a longtime fan of “The Apprentice.”
I’ve since met the man. Twice.
Again, times have changed.
And so, to my original question … Has “Trumpism” become a religion? Well, with the caveats that a) not all Trump supporters are extremists, and b) one’s religion and spirituality are deeply-felt … exactly how large does a cult have to become to be defined as a new religion?
That’s my answer.
I hope at the very least some of these pieces have provided food for thought.
Thank you for reading.
