I’m From Brooklyn. The Propriety of Journalism Aside, How Do I REALLY Feel About Trump’s Shutdown?
For one, you can still be a conservative Republican while being anti-Trump. For the rest, a traitor is in our midst. As an addendum, what follows are my uncensored thoughts.

How do I really feel about Trump’s shutdown?
As I’ve been sort of quiet(er) on the matter of late?
I think he’s a carny bastard holding his country hostage to appeal to his sycophants’ idiocy and blind idol worship. He is endangering the country by withholding paychecks from those who really are instrumental in the fight against terrorism, such as the Coast Guard and TSA agents. I believe Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity really run the Presidency.
I think Nancy Pelosi is the single greatest threat to the modern-day Republican party, and Trump knows it. He is a scam, a con, a son of a bitch who the Republicans should have reigned in (double-entendre there, okay, “reined” in) long ago and now the U.S. is paying the price.
There will be no wall, Mexico has never been in the picture, and the new trade agreement hasn’t even been ratified. He insults each and every one of his supporters daily by his lies and chaos, believing — correctly — that most will believe anything he says.
He’s building his “brand” and trying to secure a life after his disastrous Presidency.
He is an unfit prick who has been a con artist his entire life, he’s lived a life of extreme debt, his administration absolutely did collude with Russia to win the election, and everything he’s doing now he’s done in New York with banks and ex-wives for decades.
Which is, fuck the democracy that once was the United States of America and everyone who doesn’t lick his ass for gold stars.
He is talking about taking funds from natural disaster relief and diverting them for his wall. He is talking about declaring a national emergency.
He blames the Democrats for everything.
Those living paycheck to paycheck are, as Joy Reid said earlier this morning on MSNBC, “paying for the wall with their jobs.” Back to Mexico for a second, Trump denied yesterday on-air that he ever said they would (directly) pay for the wall.
If these federal workers miss a second paycheck, they should strike, sending a very clear message about combating real terror, inconvenience the rest of us, and truly let the country veer on collapse by showing their importance.
Flights should be grounded and sea travel stopped until further notice. Otherwise, PAY those hard-working federal employees for their service in protecting our skies and our shores, and other employees similarly dismissed.
“Hold a garage sale,” Coast Guard families have been told via a five-page Coast Guard Support Program pamphlet. That’s what it’s come to.
Nothing will be rebuilt otherwise with this redundant motherfucker continuing business as usual.
(Breathe boy, breathe … Okay, I feel slightly more mindful now.)
Just one more thing, and I’m going to go and walk my dog.
There is no way to overreact to this bit of late-breaking news, either:
But that, my friends and foes, will be fodder for my next Donald Trump-related disasterpiece.
The process needs to end with this dangerous embarrassment being removed from office, and imprisoned.
Argue away.
