Nearly 90,000 NewsBreak Followers and Paid For All Reads; Are You Earning Real Money on Medium Yet?

I’ve fought for writers and the elimination of scams. I value my time, so I’ll be writing on Medium less until writers here are respected more.

I have been writing on Medium inconsistently for five years, or thereabouts. Historically, my articles have focused on pop-culture and the craft and business of writing.

Of late, however, my articles targeted the myriad writing-related scams I’ve found on this platform. It became tiresome, quite frankly, so I took a month off to regroup.

I caught up on some TV (“Andor,” “Interview With the Vampire,” “House of the Dragon”) and re-binged old favorites from their beginnings, such as “Cobra Kai” and “Game of Thrones.”

(I’ve also been a little busy and don’t want to pay that short-shrift. Made a couple of television deals in the process; we’ll see where they lead.)

It is among my greatest wishes to see Medium succeed, though I am still unsure whether that potential will be reached for as long as the company’s business model stays static.

Excruciating intro over, we may now proceed with our regularly-scheduled intention.

NewsBreak is paying me good money by my standards; how much is my business. I will say with 90,000 followers I have a loyal readership base, and my all-time lowest monthly payout there remains exponentially higher than my highest month on Medium.

Nothing has changed in that regard since I last wrote about the platform on July 18, which you can read here:

I’m no “expert” on NewsBreak; I simply write about what sells on that platform and earn what I want to earn. It’s all a side income, but one that certainly works for me.

As long as I work for “it.”
