On Dynamics of Physical Intimacy With a New Partner Following the Death of a Significant Other

Author’s Note
I will admit at the outset some of this piece will indeed reflect personal experience. Personal experience, that is, garnered since unexpectedly losing my wife of nearly 23 years last November 26th of complications from a sudden hemorrhagic stroke.
In terms of moving forward physically with another following such a loss, I have also received permission from others to share their experiences in this piece.
In all cases, including mine, the couplings with one’s late spouse or otherwise significant other is represented as monogamous.
My Story
Real-time thoughts as I openly and honestly proceed with this piece: Am I somehow besmirching the memory of my deceased wife by putting this out there? Am I being insensitive? Am I cheating on her by in some way by sharing my new truth with the world?
